Before you build your skyline
Start small
Start with a new city to check controls and graphics before loading a large save or adding mods. Compatibility with every existing save and mod has not been established.
Let your city set the pace
A growing city asks more of your Mac than an empty map. Population, traffic, camera position, resolution, and graphics settings can all affect performance. Start with modest settings and change one option at a time; no particular frame rate or maximum city size is promised.
After a game update
Let Steam finish downloading and verifying updates before launching again. GameToMac checks the game’s compatibility components. If it asks for a compatibility update, keep your installation in place and update GameToMac rather than replacing game files yourself.
Need help?
Save the exact error message and open Help in GameToMac. Include your Mac model, memory, macOS version, graphics settings, and whether the problem occurs in a new city or an existing save.
